Giorno 1
Passau – Haibach

On the Danube Cycle Path you cross the upper Danube Valley and pass the village of Engelhartszell, with the impressive collegiate church of the Engelszell Monastery. Continue cycling through Niederranna and approach the highlight of the first day of the tour, the “Schlögener Schlinge”.Europe’s second largest river is forced here by the granite of the Bohemian massif to a single 180° change of direction. While a ferry takes you to the other shore, you will have enough time to observe this natural phenomenon.

L = 55km, D  = 640m

Day 2
Haibach – Enns

Today they cross the greenery of the Eferdinger Basin via the Danube market Aschach, Ottensheim and Wilhering to the Upper Austrian capital Linz. According to the motto: “It starts in Linz”, the many restaurants in the old town are ideal for a stopover. In Enns you can visit the town square with the 60-metre-high town tower, the symbol of Austria’s oldest town, or visit the archaeological collection in the Lauriacum town museum.

L = 72 km, D  = 240 m

Day 3
Enns – Marbach

Now you drive along the Danube again and first reach the wonderful baroque city of Grein. Here you have the opportunity to get an impression of the oldest still used municipal theater in Austria. Furthermore, the Maritime Museum or the Greinburg can be visited. Now you leave Upper Austria and cycle to Marbach in the Weinviertel.

L = 67 km, D  = 310 m

Day 4
Marbach – Traismauer

In Melk you should stop for a moment and look up, otherwise you will miss the beauty of Melk Abbey, overlooking the Danube.
Once you leave the city behind, you will enter the Wachau countryside, where you will be greeted by the enchanting atmosphere of the area’s typical orchards and vineyards. Complete the stage through the wine towns of Spitz, Weißenkirchen, past the castle ruins of Dürnstein and Krems, the thousand-year-old city.
Of course, a visit to a wine tasting, which we have organized for you today, should not be missing during your stay in the Wachau.

L = 67km, D  = 450m

Day 5
Traismauer – Vienna

Via the Roman city of Tulln, where you can once again enjoy the tranquility and culture of the rural region (for example with a visit to the Egon Schiele Museum), you reach the Danube metropolis of Vienna. After you arrive, move into your room and spend the rest of the day enjoying all the city has to offer. Treat yourself to a “prolonged” and a piece of the famous Sachertorte in one of the typical Viennese cafés. Stroll along the shopping street of Vienna’s parade, Mariahilfer Strasse, visit St. Stephen’s Cathedral or admire the most important sights with a ride in one of the famous “Fiaker”.

L = 66 km, D  = 210 m
